Undelete Files Easily with The UndeleteDeleted a file? Erased a document? Cleared Windows Recycle Bin full of stuff that was still usable? Undelete files and documents in a matter of minutes with the latest generation of data recovery tools! If you ever used the older undelete utilities, you might recollect that the success rate was never high. An undelete tool would require you to specify the exact name of the deleted file, and even if you did, it would recover a random version of that particular file should you have said several copies of the same document. Luckily, the situation has changed with the introduction of the latest generation of data recovery and undeletes tools. The new undelete software like The Undelete looks up for deleted files, allowing you to choose the freshest version of the deleted document, or the right file or picture. Even if you don't know or don't remember the exact name and location of the deleted file, The Undelete will list all files with similar names or extensions to allow you picking the right one. Modern file undelete tools are vastly different from their older siblings. While bearing the same 'undelete files' label, they feature completely new engines under the hood. The difference can be explained by looking into the way the file system works when deleting files. When you delete a file, its data is not actually gone. Even if the file is removed from the Recycle Bin, or if it is deleted directly, the content of the file is not destroyed. The operating system simply marks the file as 'deleted', and marks disk space it was occupying as 'free'. The important thing is that the content of the deleted file is still there, and can be salvaged if you act promptly. What did the old unerase programs do to undelete files? They simply cleared the 'deleted' attribute from the name of the file that you specified. Did it work? Yes, but under a very limited set of circumstances. In order for that simple undelete trick to work, each block of the deleted file's content must have been still available and not taken by other files; otherwise you would get a corrupted file system or a corrupted undeleted file. If there were several versions of a file with the same name, you would get a random version of the deleted document at best, and a complete mess at worst. Finally, if you didn't remember the exact name and location of the deleted file, you would not be able to recover it. Modern file undelete tools work differently. They scan the entire disk to locate each deleted file, and to gather as much information about the file as possible. If parts of the deleted document are overwritten, and the space is taken with other files, tools such as The Undelete can still recover the deleted document and re-construct it from the remaining pieces so that you can still open it with the editor such as Microsoft Word. That same trick works for digital pictures, too! Finally, The Undelete does not rely solely on the information from the file system. Scanning the surface of the hard disk allows The Undelete locating files that would have no chance of successful recovery should you have used a different product! Usability is undoubtedly a strong point in modern software, and The Undelete does not disappoint. Using straightforward, wizard-like interface and allowing full-color live preview of deleted documents and pictures, The Undelete beats the older-generation file undelete tools hands down. Undelete files easily with the latest generation of data recovery tools. If you want the ultimate undelete tool, get The Undeletes!
