The Undelete Recovers Files and Folders from 10 New File Systems
The Undelete Company updates its signature file recovery tool, The Undelete, adding support for a number of additional file systems.
Previously supporting the two popular Windows file systems, FAT and NTFS, the updated release includes support for exFAT, Ext2/3/4, UFS2, HFS and Reiser family file systems.
The support for additional file systems enables The Undelete users to recover deleted files from extra-large removable media and volumes used in Linux,
BSD family UNIX systems, Mac OS and Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise computers.
In addition, The Undelete is now available for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 systems.
About The Undelete
The Undelete enables computer users to recover deleted files and documents at home, alleviating the need of sending the disk out for recovery.
By implementing cutting-edge data recovery algorithms including signature-based file carving, The Undelete delivers excellent recovery speed and top recovery rate.
In its latest version, The Undelete boosts the number of supported file systems to more than ten.
The Undelete 6.29 supports all current revisions of the two Windows file systems FAT and NTFS. In addition, the new release supports the all-new exFAT,
a file system finding its way to removable storage media such as recently introduced extra-large memory cards and USB pen drive. Finally,
The Undelete 6.29 can recover files deleted in operating systems other than Windows, including multiple versions of Linux, BSD-based UNIX distributives,
and Apple Mac OS X. The newly added file systems include Ext2/3/4, HFS (HFS, HFS+), ReiserFS, Reiser4, and UFS2.
The product is designed with an ordinary computer user in mind. Its user interface is based around a fully guided, step by step wizard taking the user
through the obstacles of the data recovery process one little step after another.
While The Undelete can recover files of any type, special care has been taken to recover certain types of important documents. Office documents,
digital pictures, compressed archives and multimedia files are treated differently from other types of files, and can be recovered even under the
most difficult circumstances thanks to Smart Scan, a unique carving technology invented by The Undelete.
Smart Scan combines information about the files that obtained from the file system and collected from the disk surface in order to reliably
locate and recover as many documents as possible. The technology supports over 250 types of files including Office documents, digital pictures,
ZIP and RAR archives, audio and video files. Smart Scan carves the content of the hard disk sector by sector, matching data it reads against
characteristic signatures to identify locations of each recoverable document, thus ensuring the best ratio of successful recoveries.
The Undelete allows the user to make sure that the file is recoverable before performing the write operation. Simply clicking on a document
immediately displays its full preview thanks to yet another proprietary technology employed by The Undelete. Live Preview displays the content
of each file before the recovery in what-you-see-is-what-you-get fashion, allowing the user to judge the condition of the file being recovered.
Live Preview supports over 250 types of files, particularly those supported by the Smart Scan technology.
